JOB OPPORTUNITIES
You Make It Happen
Face The World relies on a network of Community Representatives who are the backbone of our organization. Community Representatives have an opportunity to spend time with young people from all over the world, experience their own community through new eyes, and get to know the people in their own backyard--and they are paid a stipend, too!
Being a Community Representative can be challenging, but also very rewarding. You can make a personal contribution to the enrichment of young people from around the globe and help to promote cross-cultural understanding.
Community Representatives talk to schools, community leaders, and everyone else in town! They get out in their community and invite friends, neighbors, and new acquaintances to become host families, and they build a relationship with local schools to enroll our students.
A Community Representative's Responsibilities:
- Find and screen potential host families
- Assist potential host families in completing the necessary paperwork and forms
- Secure written permission for attendance from local schools and enroll the student upon arrival
- Give orientations to all students and host families in your area
- Meet with each student and host family at least once per month and complete reports indicating their program progress
- Assist all host families and students with any difficulties or emergencies they may face during the year and report all incidents to your manager
- HAVE FUN! Plan group activities, picnics, and gatherings for the students and host families in your area!
Community Representatives can also earn money by locating and interviewing local teenagers to study abroad!
Community Representatives in some areas may also be able to arrange for short-term groups of students to live with host families during the summer and winter school breaks.
